My lifelong interest in cycling began over 50 years ago. Since then I've now surpassed 100,000 miles of road cycling during my lifetime, including racing when I was young. Augmented with running and strength training, cycling has always been the most important component in building and maintaining my fitness goals which I developed from my interest in and learning about exercise physiology throughout my life.

So let me explain that from an "accountant's perspective" through the definition of an "asset" as being a tangible or intangible thing, person or quality that which is owned and of value. Well, from my perspective, the most important asset of value that one can "own" is the best version of their health and fitness achieved through an active lifestyle of exercise and proper diet; both of which are proven to be of great importance to both longevity and qualify of life, especially in our senior years which is where I am at.

But more than that, cycling has also been a great way to travel in new places and countries to experience the scenic beauty and culture of a region; my favorite being destinations in Europe attending the various pro cycling races there.
